A New Home Is Coming for Power of Dreams

Beginning in August 2026 the
powerofdreams.net

is also to become the
powerofdreams.com

For now, powerofdreams.net will continue to serve as the main site, since redesigning all of the pages (500+ pages) plus moving the images (1,200+) will take a tremendous amount of time and effort. Until all the files are moved, powerofdreams.com will be forwarded to the .net url.

A Brief Note on Honda and "The Power of Dreams"

Long before powerofdreams..com became A Jungian psychology site on dreams, the phrase "Power of Dreams" belonged, in the public imagination, to a very different kind of enterprise: the Honda Motor Company. Honda's founder, Soichiro Honda, built his company on the belief that engineering achievement began with imagination {something the Jungian site continues in its design-creative imagination}. After his original components business was destroyed in the Second World War, he started over, adapting a surplus military generator engine to power Honda's first complete vehicle, the Type A motorcycle, before eventually designing an engine of his own once that supply ran out. Honda Motor Co., Ltd. was formally established in 1948.

That founding spirit of imagination eventually became the company's signature marketing identity. Honda's advertising built its "Power of Dreams" message around the idea that the company itself, and the imagination and determination driving it, was its most distinctive asset. Honda has continued to use "Power of Dreams" as an official slogan across its global corporate communications, and affiliated divisions, from motorcycles to motorsports, still describe their history in terms of chasing and achieving dreams. It discontinued its ownership of the url powerofdreams.com in 2026 with the ownership being purchased by the webmaster at powerofdreams.net in July of 2026.

Whether Honda ever operated powerofdreams.com as a public-facing website, or simply held the domain to protect a phrase so closely tied to its brand, isn't something the historical record makes clear. What is clear is the shared thread: a name that meant one thing to a global automaker built on engineering imagination, and means something quite different to a small, independent site devoted to the imagination of the sleeping mind. The domain's next chapter belongs to that second meaning.

A Note On Creative Imagination

Carl Jung viewed creative imagination as the fundamental building block of the psyche, operating through a method called active imagination where a person interacts directly with unconscious images, symbols, and archetypes to achieve psychological wholeness. This is the core concept used in the design of the Power of Dreams, an active part of the psyche of its webmaster.
